Information regarding the combined SMMC centres rehearsal day 3rd September 2016

All pupils in our Dunedin Centres will meet at George Street School on Saturday 3rd September to rehearse for the Annual Demonstration Concert to be held in the Dunedin Town Hall on the afternoon of Sunday 18th September.

Most groups will start at 9am to practice an individual instrumental or ensemble item, after which they will meet in the Hall by 10am to rehearse the massed item 1812 Overture. Some groups will meet later in the morning. Please check the back of this notice to see which room and time applies to you.

Elmgrove Centre: A bus will leave your Centre school at 8:30am on Saturday, 3rd September to transport pupils to the George Street Centre. It will leave George Street Normal School at 11:15am to return to Mosgiel.

What is happening in September? 3rd: Combined rehearsal which replaces normal classes. 10th: Classes as usual. 17th: A combined stage rehearsal at Geo St Normal School in preparation for the concert the following day. 18th: The annual concert takes place in the Town Hall beginning at 3pm. (A further notice will give details of this nearer the time.) The concert concludes Term Three.

Term Four begins on Saturday, October 15th, or the weekday prior. ADMISSION TO CONCERT: We invite all parents and families of performing children to attend the concert. Because the Town Hall has kindly offered to us free of charge, there is no admission fee. However, donations will be most gratefully accepted on entry to defray expenses associated with the concert. Request: We ask that pupils please respect the property of George Street Normal School during the rehearsal morning. It is a privilege that we are able to use their classrooms and spaces. We are grateful for the co-operation and assistance of parents in the supervision of this.
